Remote Config Owns the Truth
ScriptableObjects provide safe defaults, but Firebase Remote Config decides what is live. Difficulty curves, economy multipliers, and limited-time quests all reference a shared “knobs” document so designers, producers, and marketers tweak the same source of truth.
Goal: flip experiments without redeploying. Every LiveOps toggle is documented with owner, guardrail values, and rollback notes.
Instrumentation Mirrors Design Pillars
Beyond DAU and retention, we chart:
- Unlock cadence and difficulty spikes per cohort.
- Failure moments tied to specific LiveOps pushes.
- Percent of players engaging with optional loops or events.
If a quest drop-off appears within an hour of a push, the dashboard links to the responsible toggle so we can revert instantly.
Guard Rails & Recovery Plans
Every content push runs through a staging track with synthetic wallets. QA maintains a “rollback cookbook” that anyone on-call can follow without pinging a lead. LiveOps should feel agile, but only when the recovery plan is written first.
